Coating with hotmelt in a continuous process of continuous material from a roll is called balti, restricting and not quite correct, a coating plant. More information about coating with roller or spray process with automatic feeding and application is available under Hotmelt Technology.

Especially reactive adhesives are preferably applied to webs with the low-maintenance and closed slot nozzle with controlled adhesive flow. Even if thicker quantities of adhesives and sealants (e.g. butyl) are to be applied, the slot nozzle is probably unbeatable. Together with the corresponding system technology (controlled adhesive preparation and application with dosing pump), undreamt-of possibilities are created.

Coating systems are usually designed and developed according to the customer's specific requirements and based on existing know-how and experience. Countless expansion possibilities determine the degree of automation.

A laminating line is basically an extended coating line. In most cases, a second unwinding roll is used to laminate a further material directly after the adhesive application. By means of a laminating roller with adjustable gap or contact pressure the resulting compound is produced. Whether it is a permanent bond with a second material or just the application of a protective film, the process remains the same. For certain applications so-called flatbed laminations are also made. Advantage: longer and more constant contact pressure.

Single or multiple stations with one robot are practically "everyday life in the bonding industry" today. You determine the type of robot, we build the system for you, run it in and hand over the "turnkey" system to you. Plant at the production site.

Whether only the robot or fully equipped with additional functions such as pre-treatment, joining, control or even just application support (optimal programming of the robot for a perfect application), you decide to what extent balti should support you in automatic application.

With the increased use of PUR in bookbinding balti has developed and patented a nozzle technology. In the meantime balti OEM serves customers with melting and application systems for single and multi-tong binders, end customers with autonomous retrofit systems integrated in insert systems adapted to the respective perfect binder type as well as customers in the new field of single book production (book-on-demand). The unique nozzle design together with the glue guide system allow a fast and programmable changeover from very small to thick thread-bound books.

If several process steps are to be carried out one after the other, and this in the shortest possible time, in a small space and usually fully automatically, then the solution with a rotary indexing table has already proven itself many times over. By means of standard or special modules tools, axes, sensor systems etc. are arranged on or around the rotary indexing table to map a subsequent process. balti has developed some system components for this purpose, e.g. for supply, signal rotary feedthroughs etc.
